Last week Mary Bernier introduced us to returning Suburban Rotarian, Zoe Baumel. Zoe recently retired from Real Estate and is returning ot us after a few years.    Zoe is a lifelong learner holding multiple degrees including a in BA Business Admin, BS Med Tech, MA Economics, and a PhD in Gerontology.

 

She also is an active community volunteer and several areas including Food Insecurity, Global Peace, and Women's Rights.  She is married to Jean Sassatelli  and enjoys reading, writing and mathematics in her free time.  Welcome back, Zoe!

The Omaha Storm Chasers and the Rotary District 5650 Veterans Fellowship group are teaming up to raise money on Military Appreciation Night for our Annual District-Wide ballgame! $6 from each ticket purchased will go to our designated beneficiary, Operation 22 Til Freedom (https://operation22tilfreedom.com/)!. They raise funds to help veterans in need and to lower veteran suicide. Money raised will help veterans all over the metro area!

 

Please plan on coming a bit early that night to join us in our private tailgating area in front of the stadium and to watch District Governor Barbara Bartle throw out one of the ceremonial first pitches!

Prospect Hill Cemetery Weed Whackers 2021, Future Dates and Time

 

 

Want to help spruce up one of the oldest cemeteries in Omaha at 3202 Parker Street?  Below are the dates to come and pitch in for any period of time you can spare between 8 a.m. and Noon.  Bring your own work gloves.  If you have a rake, broom, weed-whacker or a favorite yard tool, please bring it and put it to use.  Any questions, please call Steve Scheuber 402-689-7669.  Volunteers at any of our service projects get a Rotarian at Work t-shirt.
