Approximately 240 Rotarians attended the Annual Metro Luncheon on the ice at the new UNO Baxter Arena.  We heard from Mike Kemp UNO Athletic Director.  Thanks to Morning Rotary for putting on this event!

Mark your calendar to attend our fun After Hours events planned for this month:

On Wednesday, November 11th we will enjoy a tour of Baxter Arena with appetizers sponsored by Mark Stokes and a cash bar.  Park and come into the Club Lounge at the South Entrance.  5-7pm.

On Thursday, November 19th we will have our annual Keep the Kids Warm Event which will feature appetizers as well as drinks. Donations will  of kids coats, hats, and gloves will be accepted as well as monetary donations to purchase these items for needy kids at our partner  school-Crestridge Magnet School.

We hope to see you at both of these!
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people – children, families and entire communities – benefit from projects funded by The Rotary Foundation.  Its concentration is in six areas of focus:  promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education and growing local economies.

Please consider joining your fellow Rotarians by becoming a Sustaining Member this year with a $100 donation (or any amount is appreciated!).  You can even donate monthly with as little as $10 per month.  Our goal is 100% participation! First-time donors have the opportunity to get a match from the club so your first $100 toward your Paul Harris Fellowship will be turned into $200.  To donate online go to myrotary.org and set up an account. Your member # is on the address label of your Rotarian magazine and our club # is 1535 (let Jennifer know you've done this so she can add you to our participating member list.)

Thank you to those Rotarians who have already made a commitment to support the Rotary Foundation this year as a Sustaining Member earlier this year or with their dues! (If you think you should be on this list, please let us know.  Recent online donations may not be on our report yet so please let us know if you made an online donation.) New donors this week in bold.

We are back at JCPenney Westroads with our annual tradition of ringing bells for the Salvation Army.  We will be ringing on November 28th (Thanksgiving weekend) and December 12th and need lots of volunteers to fill 40 spots for each Saturday.  Your family, friends, kids, grandkids, etc. are welcome and encouraged to join you.  Sign up now to get the shift you want.  Please consider signing up for the November 28th asap as we only have 2 meetings between now and that Saturday.   To sign up go to our website www.suburbanrotary.org and select the event from the left side of the website or from the calendar then select Bell Ringing and sign-in to select your shift.
