Last week Amanda Fink and Jared Wills served as greeters. Matt Darling gave our invocation.  We had several announcements and presentations.  Terry Ferguson introduced John Newman who talked about the past and future of Lauritzen Gardens.   The RISK bag was at $125 and Joe Sequenzia won a free lunch.   
Rotary Foundation Recognition 
Last week , Frank Goldberg recognized Deanna Fuller, Don Goldstein,  Nick Jasa, and C.L. Landen as  Paul Harris Fellows +1 for their donations of $2000 to the Rotary Foundation.  Nate Schwalb was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow+6 for his donations of $7000 to the Rotary Foundation. Thank you to all for your generosity!

Sign up to Help with Winter Night Watch 
Our club has volunteered to cover three weeks of the Salvation Army Winter Night watch serving meals to the homeless and near homeless.  There are 3 trucks this year.   We still need 1 volunteer for this coming Friday!

After Hours at Scottish Rite on 1/17 
Join us for an After Hours in the historic Scottish Rite Cathedral hosted by John Maxell.  January 17th from 5-7pm.  Bring a guest! 

Parking will be available in the parking garage attached to build. Visitors will need to go down the alley south of the build (the alley will be mark with signs to the parking garage).  

We will meet on the second floor in the Lounge for drinks and finger foods. Tours of the build will be available through the evening.

Facts about the build;

Open in 1914. Designed by the architect John Latenser, Sr. in the Neo-Classical style.  

Latenser was a noted architect, who designed numerous buildings including Central High School, the Brandeis Build, and Douglas County Courthouse.

The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Rotary Book Club
Our next book selection is  "Educated: A Memoir" by Tara Westover.  This book is #1 on the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Boston Globe Bestseller List, etc. 
We will not be meeting during the month of December.  Our next meeting is currently scheduled for January 8, 2019, at Wheatfields on 103rd and Pacific.  New members welcome!
