Rotarian of the Year; Changing of the Guard
At our June 25 meeting we will be honoring our past officers, Board members and Trustees.  We also will acknowledge our new officers and Board personnel.  Members of the 4-Way Committee will be announcing the name of the club member who has received our highest honor, "Rotarian of the Year."
Rotary International Convention
President-elect Dan Hosford is one of several Suburban Rotarians that attended the convention in Taipei. 
   
IronHawks Volunteers 
June 25 Highlights
Yearlings were asked what is their favorite "Golden Rule."  Answers ranged from "do unto others as you do unto you," "learn something new each day," and "never treat anyone less than you want to be treated."
 
Ron Burkle shared Father's Day memories and a special video and song in tribute to the fathers in the room.
 
Candace Gregory from Open Door Mission was honored as Omahan of the Year.  She shared many of the special programs and services of the organization such as free health and wellness clinic, to free meals, to housing and how important community support is to the mission. She said the secret to the group's success is treating people with respect and dignity.  She reminded the club that the organization provides 5,000 meals a day. 
 
 
Dundee Soccer Field 
Volunteers from Suburban Rotary Club help construct a soccer field for students at Dundee Elementary.  Here is a slide show of the transformation.

District Polio Ride
This message is going to Club Leadership in Rotary District 5650
 
We have postponed the Polio ride scheduled for next Saturday (5/23/26) to August 29th.   We didn't have enough riders to justify the volunteer effort we put together.  We'lll use the next three months to get registration to 60-80 riders.  We have a spot for one more club to man an aid station.  The next club that volunteers will be eligible for a $500 grant for the project of their choice.   
 
As a reminder, the Ride is an opportunity for you to engage your members in support of Rotary's most significant International project. We need your help to get members and riders engaged.  This event is open to the general public, families, and Rotarians.  It features:
 
  • Family friendly 10 and 25 mile rides (all on trails)
  • A 42 mile ride for people looking for a little more challenge
  • Bike clinics hosted by the Bellevue Bicycle Club
  • Food trucks
  • Riders get a quality t-shirt, an entry into a raffle to win a $500 gift certificate to a local bike ship, and the registration includes a PolioPlus donation.

Rotary Fellowships are international groups that share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a fun way to make friends around the world, explore a hobby or profession, and enhance your Rotary experience.

I would also like to remind you about your Rotary Club Excellence Awards for 2025-26. I know you are all working hard to do good things in your communities and the world. We want to recognize all your achievements at the end of your Rotary Club year 2025-26.
 
To achieve the Club Excellence Award:
1.Go to Rotary Club Central
2.Review the available goals
3.Set at least half of the available goals
4.Achieve those goals
5.Report achievement in Rotary Club Central by 30 June.
6.Pay club invoices in full upon receipt
 
June is also the last month of my 2025-26 year as your District Governor. It has been such an honor to meet and serve all of you this past year!! I am so proud of everything you have done to serve your communities and the world to “Unite for Good”!!
 
As I hand the torch of service July 1st, to incoming District Governor, Gretchen Bren, 2026-27, I know that we are in great hands!!
 
Finally, remember to invite a guest to your Rotary Club meeting. Grow your membership. One meeting could change their life and yours as well.
