Meeting re-cap 3/19

Last week Tom Kerfoot and Ward Peters served as Greeters. Winsley Durand gave the invocation. We had a remembrance of Bob Loos and Nick Jasa featured Bob as the "Rotarian of the Day". We had several announcements and presentations. Fundraising Chair Kathryn Schubert recognized the newest Scholarship Circle members. Kay Farrell introduced Brook Bench and Emily Burgess who talked to us about upcoming events and Omaha Parks services. The RISK bag was at $561 and Dave Nelson won a free lunch.

Last week Lyle Sapp recognized Walt Horner as a member of the Howard Vann President's Club for his donations of $25,000 to the Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation. Thank you Walt for your generosity!

Annual Suburban Rotary Fundraiser-LAST WEEK!

We are running our Annual Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation Fundraiser for scholarships and other projects through this Thursday. If you haven't participated, please do so this week!

So far we have raised $32,108

Our goal is participation in any amount from all of our members. To make it easy, you can make a one-time donation in any amount or pledge monthly as little as $10 a month. A donation of $300 or a monthly pledge of $25 will make you a member of our 2015 President's Scholarship Circle. Scholarship Circle members will be recognized at our meeting with a certificate as well as on the slideshow, newsletter, and website.

Membership Pins

This year Rotary International is providing colored pin backers to members who bring new members into the club. Last week Rose Mary Hefley recognized Mary Bernier with a blue backer for bringing in new member Jennifer Katz. Thanks for growing the club!

March Service Project

We will be helping to maintain one of Omaha's oldest cemeteries. We will rake and sweep a portion of it. All volunteers are asked to bring their work gloves, rakes, brooms, dust pans, plastic or canvas tarp and any other tools for possible yard clean up. An indoor bathroom will be available and water will be provided. You don't have to be there for the whole time to volunteer.

Omahan and Suburban Rotarian of the Year Nominations

The Four-Way Test Committee has begun the SEARCH for the Omahan and Suburban Rotarian of the Year. They are seeking all Suburban Rotarians to help in recommending an outstanding person in our community and an outstanding Suburban Rotarian. Qualifications are simple: Do they follow the 4-way test in their work place and community.
