Last week Jared Wills and Judy Sealers were our greeters.  Leah Richards gave the invocation. We had several announcements and presentations.   We had the dueling fight songs of the Huskers and Cyclones to kick off college football season.   President Curt Peters recognized Sol Kutler, David Gerard, and Lee Myers with Rotary hats for being a "Gift to the World" for their contributions to our meeting music and a/v presentations.  Steve Thornburg introduced Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson who talked about the role of his office in the state.  The RISK bag was at $296 and Bill Prout won a free lunch.

Last week Jordan Walker introduced us to new member Bailey Feekin. Bailey is a Marketing and Communication Specialist with American National Bank.  An Omaha native, Bailey attended UNO where she earned her degree with a double major in marketing and management.  Bailey is an active member of the community volunteering for Food Bank for the Heartland.  She is also a member of the American Marketing Association.

In her free time, Bailey enjoys spending time with her husband and 1 1/2 year-old son. She also enjoys sporting events and being active outside. Welcome, Bailey!

Congratulations to our 100%ers who were recognized for perfect attendance by Terri Greenwood last week.   Dick Skalla-32 years, Randy Wieseler- 5, Katie Henry-5, Nate Schwalb-5, and Fritz Stehlik 4.  Nice job guys!

Jack Hosking visited a club in Oregon last week and John Wygoski visited one in California and brought us back club flags.  Think about visiting a club when you are traveling for fun or business. You can find club locations and meeting times on myrotary.org or download the club locator app to your phone.  (We can give you a Suburban flag to take with you as well).

This is the last week that members of the Military Affairs Committee will be sitting at the back table selling Savings Sidekick coupon books.  They are $20 and proceeds will benefit projects for area service people. In the past the MA committee has supported a Winter Wonderland event for families of deployed troops, a camp for children of soldiers with special needs, a holiday dinner for soldiers, etc.   You can also donate books to area military families by making a donation to the MA committee. Donations of $100 or more can be to the Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation for tax purposes.

Volunteers are needed for highway clean-up on Saturday, September 12th at 7:30 a.m.  Sign up online or at a meeting.
