Last week Steve Scheuber introduced us to new member Todd Samland.  Todd has created four successful swim programs from scratch.  The first build was the Maverick Masters in 1983 - starting with 12 and reaching over 215+ in four years. In 1997, the second program was the Women's Swimming and Diving team at UNO winning two conference championships and placing as high as fifth and Division II NCAA Championships before moving into Division I waters with a best placing of second at conference.  The third program build was the Omaha Masters Swim Club in 2003 with pre-covid numbers of 60+.  The final program built was the 2021 Men's Swimming and Diving program at UNO.  Todd is currently looking for his next professional adventure and is open for discussing possible opportunities not in the world of athletics.

Todd has been married for 12 years to Kathleen Samland.  He has 4adult children (Zac, Andy, Hannah, and Rachel) and two grandkids (from Andy - Tayah and Teron).  Kathleen and Todd enjoy throwing parties with the latest being the seventh annual pre-thanksgiving Pie Party where he made 10 separate pies (yes, he makes his own pie crust). He enjoys creating stained glass projects from window installations to suncatchers.  His final hobby is growing a vegetable garden. Welcome, Todd!
